In real estate, like any other business, you have to stay optimistic. There is no time for pessimism in business. You can’t question yourself, you can’t second-guess yourself, you can’t be indecisive. You have to remain optimistic, positive, calm, focused on what you’re trying to achieve in your business.

You are an entrepreneur. That word, “entrepreneur”, comes from a French word that translates to, “to do something or to undertake”. You have to act, and that takes moving in a positive direction. It takes decisiveness. It takes focus. It takes understanding what it is you’re trying to accomplish, what it is you’re trying to achieve, what your target is, what your goal is.

And you have to be moving, every day, in that direction. You have to be confident in yourself, in your ability, in your capacity to keep making forward progress in that direction. That takes a level of optimism, a level of saying, “To hell with it!” A level of saying, I don’t care what my doubters are saying, I don’t care what those closest to me — who say they’re concerned about me, who say they’re worried about me, who say they’re not sure if this is the right path for me.

You have to stay confident and positive in yourself and in your real estate business so that you can keep making that progress, so you can keep working toward your goal.

Pessimism, at best, is just going to slow you down. Questioning yourself, second-guessing yourself, being indecisive is only going to delay getting you toward those accomplishments.

So, as an entrepreneur, you have to be decisive and you have to stay positive. You have to be optimistic. It’s a requirement.

It’s part of the very definition of the word entrepreneur.
