Do you find in your business that you constantly have more “month” than money? Cashflow is one of the most significant problems for small businesses & their owners.

I have had customers that constantly struggled with cashflow issues. I had one that constantly talked about his “cashflow crunch”… & every month was a cashflow crunch. That’s not a cashflow problem. That’s a pricing model problem.

If you’re relying on low prices & fair credit terms to your customers to make sales, you are setting yourself up for cashflow problems down the road.

If you’re providing a service, people think in terms of getting the service & then paying for it. However, if you provide a product, people tend to think in terms of paying for the product, then taking the product home with them. You don’t get to use toilet paper & then pay for it. You have to pay for the toilet paper in order to take it home & use it.

The question is, can you productize the service you’re offering? Can you set up your service in such a way that you’re offering it as a product?

Netflix is a service. Netflix allows you to watch their movies & their shows that they put online, but you pay for that with a set monthly amount. You don’t pay after you watch the movie. So, Netflix has taken the service of providing this content, & they productized it. They’ve offered it to you in a way that you pay up front for the next month worth of unlimited streaming.

How can you set up your service so that it’s offered under similar terms? Are you taking a retainer? Are you charging an upfront fee for the work that you’re about to do? Are you charging on a subscription model? You get unlimited access to what I can provide for a set fee upfront.
